Creamy Aioli Sauce 


Aioli, a classic French sauce, is a simple yet incredibly flavorful condiment that can elevate so many dishes. This easy-to-make, creamy sauce is far superior to store-bought options. With its rich, garlicky taste, aioli is a versatile condiment that can be used on everything from roasted vegetables to grilled meats. So, ditch the store-bought stuff and give this homemade aioli a try.


Some Uses for Aioli Include -


Dipping Sauce:

  • Crispy Foods: Aioli is a classic dipping sauce for French fries, onion rings, chicken nuggets, and other fried foods.

  • Vegetables: It pairs well with raw vegetables like carrots, celery, and bell peppers.

  • Seafood: Grilled shrimp, oysters, and other seafood can be enhanced with a drizzle of aioli.


Spreading:

  • Sandwiches and Wraps: Aioli can be used as a spread on sandwiches and wraps, adding a garlicky flavor.


Sauce:

  • Pasta: Toss it with pasta for a quick and easy meal.

  • Grilled Meats: Drizzle it over grilled chicken, steak, or pork for extra flavor.

Makes: A little more than one-half cup - Want more? - Just double the recipe.


Suggested Prep Tools:


·  Cutting board

· Small bowl

·  Whisk or medium stir spoon

. Measuring cups

. Measuring spoons

·  Sharp knife or garlic press

 

Ingredients:

·  ½ Cup real mayonnaise, such as Best Foods/Hellmanns 

·  ½ Tablespoon garlic, minced or pressed (or more depending on how garlic intense you want your sauce) 

· 1 Tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil or avocado oil

· 1 Tablespoon lemon juice (either bottled or fresh)

· Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions:




1.   Add mayonnaise to a small bowl. Then drizzle the olive oil into the bowl and gently whisk to blend well.





2.   Add the rest of the ingredients and whisk to a smooth and creamy texture.


3.   Cover and store in the refrigerator for at least thirty minutes before use.


If serving separately as a dip or accompaniment, you may want to garnish the top with any of these: minced chives, parsley, green onion, cilantro


Optional Other Versions:  


  • For a bit of spiciness - add 2 teaspoons sriracha

  • For potato skins, fries – add 1 tablespoon catsup

  • For Mexican dishes – add 1 – 2 tablespoons minced cilantro

  • For seafood – add 1 teaspoon grated lemon

  • For a kick of heat – add 2 teaspoons buffalo sauce

  • For basil flavor – add 2 teaspoons pesto sauce
